This Day in Video Game History

I love big, historical things happening in the world of video games. On June 11, 1983, Capcom was founded. It's original intent was to manage the internal sales department of its parent company: Sambi Co., Ltd.

Sambi Co., Ltd. was originally I.R.M. Corporation and Japan Capsule Computers Co., Ltd., but I digress.

I remember when Capcom created the game 1942 for the NES, but their real star was always Street Fighter. Then, in 1987, they created one of the most well-loved franchises of all time: Mega Man. I spent hundreds of hours playing different version of this game with my friends.

Kudos to a company that has created many games and many persistent game franchises.
